Seminars are typically held on Monday or Tuesday evenings but can be held on any weekday. We offer them on Sunday evenings, Saturday mornings, or half-day Saturday seminars.
InvestKid provides customized seminars, workshops, and events for churches, tailored to their specific requirements and needs.
To make it easier for parents to attend, we recommend that the hosting church or organization offer a light complimentary meal before the seminar begins. This meal should be provided for families attending the evening seminar or a continental breakfast for those attending the Saturday morning seminar. Please note that this meal is only for parents and their children who have registered for it.
Suggested menu options for the evening family meals include pizza, hot dogs, or similar items. Suggested options for the Saturday morning continental breakfast may include doughnuts, Danish pastries, muffins, or similar items.
To facilitate parents' attendance at the seminar, we recommend that the host church or organization provide childcare or children's activities during the seminar. Childcare should be provided in the children’s ministry area or in a separate room/area away from the seminar presentation. After having their meal, parents can register their children in the childcare area and then attend the seminar.
Note: InvestKid has increased attendance at seminars by the host church offering a complimentary family meal and childcare, which makes it more convenient for parents.
A typical seminar consists of a maximum of 2 hours of teaching, including breaks and Q&A. The aim of the seminar is to promote active learning through engaging and interactive sessions. The teaching methods employed during the session include the use of real-life examples, thought-provoking questions, anecdotes, and opportunities for the audience to participate.
Participants receive a four-page listening guide with essential statements, blank spaces for filling gaps, and room for taking notes. PowerPoint is used.
AV equipment required includes a wireless head mic, handheld mic, projector, and screen. The seminar presentation will be in the form of a PowerPoint file that will either be emailed or given to the Host Church AV Team to load onto the computer.
For logistical purposes, it is preferable to have the meal and seminar presentation in separate rooms. However, if separate rooms are not available, we will ensure that the meal ends in sufficient time to clean the tables and start the seminar presentation on time in the same room.

InvestKid offers the SOS HELP FOR PARENTS book for sale at a wholesale price at seminars. The goal is to make the book accessible to as many people as possible. Additionally, at each seminar, one or two copies of the book are given away through a drawing. Comment cards are collected at the end of the seminar, and the winners are chosen randomly. InvestKid doesn't make any profit from the sale or order of books.
Some churches opt to give away one book per family to those who attend the seminar. InvestKid makes books available for purchase at wholesale prices to churches and organizations that wish to distribute them to their attendees
Individuals who are interested in attending our seminar can register online through our website, investkid.org. To register, they should fill out a form that includes all the necessary details. Once they submit the form, a copy containing all the information will be sent to the church or organization's office.
By registering through our website, participants will know that InvestKid, a professional organization, is conducting the seminar, not the host church or organization. This will make the seminar more credible, and attendees and the friends they invite to attend can rest assured that they are attending a professional parenting seminar with trained and qualified facilitators.
Typically, there is no cost for registering for the seminar. Although the marketing and promotional material states that the seminar costs $10 per person or $15 per couple, it also mentions that the first 50 registrants (or couples) are given free registration. This promotion adds value to the seminar and encourages people to sign up sooner rather than later to take advantage of the free registration offer.
InvestKid does not have a designated fee for conducting seminars. Ken and Nancy, who conduct the seminars, do not receive a salary from InvestKid. However, an honorarium is kindly requested, which will go towards the operating expenses of the Ministry of InvestKid.
There are certain expenses that InvestKid incurs when conducting seminars, which they ask the church or organization to cover or reimburse, if applicable.
These expenses include reimbursement for car travel at the business rate for miles driven to and from the event from their home office. Additionally, if the distance to the seminar location is more than two hours from the home office in Columbus, Ohio, reimbursement for meals may be requested.
If an overnight stay is required, reimbursement for lodging and food is also requested. Occasionally, a two-night lodging requirement may be necessary if the driving distance is far and they need to drive in on the day before the seminar.
If the distance requires flying, reimbursement for the cost of airline tickets is necessary.
Nancy and Ken travel together and conduct the seminars together. Their purpose is not to make a living but to make a difference in the lives of families.
InvestKid also does its best to make it affordable for any church to host seminars by splitting the cost of expenses if they are doing an additional seminar somewhere in the area
